PMT's award-winning pressure forming capabilities allow for precise reproduction of tool definition, including textures and complex undercuts required in high definition, close tolerance parts produced for a variety of industries, including medical, aerospace, food service, electronics and robotics.
PMT's pressure forming capabilities allow highly-engineered cosmetic parts to be formed with tight tolerances and zero draft. Pressure forming creates detailed plastic parts in a process where heated thermoplastic sheets are pressed against a mold surface using both vacuum and pressure. The result is plastic parts with zero residual stress, a fine level of detail and features like vents, textures, molded-in words and logos, and sharp corners and edges.
Thermoforming plastic materials are extremely versatile and can meet demanding specifications and performance requirements while being considerably lighter than steel, aluminum, and fiberglass. With the ability to form in undercuts and snap-fit features, pressure forming can minimize assembly time.
PMT offers in-house EMI/RFI shielding, which is applied to the interior surface of pressure-formed parts to comply with UL electromagnetic emissions requirements.
